Hello friends, welcome to my another blog post how to add Google Analytics to Joomla website. Now what is google analytics and why we integrate it into our site. Google Analytics is a website tracking tool which helps you understand your website’s visitor. It is free to setup and Google Analytics can track visitors from all referrers, including search engines and social networks, direct visits and referring sites. It also tracks display advertising, pay-per-click networks, email marketing, and digital collateral such as links within PDF documents. In the first step, I will show you to create a Google Analytics account. Then add the Analytics code to Joomla website. Lets start the process:

Step1: Create a Google Analytics account
If you haven’t already, you will need to sign up for a Google Analtyics account. Visit this page and then click the Create an account link in the top right of the page.
Step2: Generate Tracking Code
Once you’re logged into Google Analytics, your next step is to setup your Joomla website within the tool and get the tracking code. Here are the general steps (again, you must be logged in to Google Analytics first)
– Click Admin in the top right menu
– Click the New Account Button
– Fill out all the details on the Create New Account page and then click the Create Account button at the bottom of the page
– You will then be on a page with several tabs at the top, and the current one selected is Tracking Code. Find and copy into a text editor (for later use) the code under section 2. Paste this code on your site. It will look similar to the following:
Step3: Put the code in your website template
Log into the Joomla administration panel and go to “Extensions”-> “Template Manager”. Here you see list of templates.
Click on “Templates” tab beside “Styles” tab.
Just locate the template your site is using, then click on its title.
